With version 16.4 of Visual Studio, you now have the ability to use the PowerShell Az module. That’s right!! You can uninstall the Azure PowerShell module, or better known as AzureRm.
Check out https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/azure-resource-manager/vs-azure-tools-update-deploy-script-to-az-powershell for the instructions.
In my Deploy-AzureResourceGroup.ps1 script, I have:

#Requires -Module Az

[string] [Parameter(Mandatory = $true)] $ResourceGroupLocation,

[string] $DSCSourceFolder = 'DSC',

Microsoft Docs provide a link to a Github Gist located at https://gist.github.com/cweining/d2da2479418ea403499c4306dcf4f619. However, references still exist to the old AzureRm modules so it doesn’t work “as-is” if you just rip it.
The Gist is embedded here to save you a trip.
